SmartCat 97 is a powerful file cataloging and archiving utility with a Windows Explorer-style interface.

SmartCat makes it easy to archive, organize and find all your important data. It can be used to track floppy disks, CD ROMs, ZIP disks, or files stored on any type of device. It can analyze files contained in ZIP files and self-extracting ZIPs. Powerful earching facilities allow you to track down that missing file wherever it is, by name, date, size, etc. SmartCat's archiving capabilities allow you to offload files that you no longer want cluttering up your system's hard drive, but you want to keep for future reference. You can do this directly from within Explorer, using additions to Explorer's right-mouse button context menu. The files you select are packaged up and moved to the archive medium, and (optionally) the originals are deleted (safely, via the recycle bin). When you need the files back all the powerful SmartCat 97 search facilities are available to locate the files you need, and a complementary restore function lets you retrieve the files with a couple of mouse clicks.
