Ulead GIF-X is an APS 32-bit compatible plug-in with 12 powerful effects for creating impressive animations. Some of the effects are: Rotation, for creating spinning images; 3D Map, for wrapping an image into a revolving 3D globe or cube; and Bounce, which animates images with an effect resembling a bouncing ball. Other plug-in effects can: create a page turning, or waving flag effect; zoom in on part of the image; shift colors across an image; change the light source and light intensity; attach two images together to create a cube effect; and add a neon glow to an image. GIF-X was designed specifically to allow users to easily create animated images for their web sites. Unlike many applications for GIF animation that require the user to use an image editing program to create each frame individually, and then construct the actual animation in another application, GIF-X will take an image and create the animation all in one go. This type of functionality is a boon to the amateur designer who may not have either the appropriate software, or the necessary skills to create such animations in the traditional way. It is also beneficial to the professional designer in that it gives them powerful plug-ins that will save them a great deal of time.
